Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was one of the greatest communicators of our time. A skilled orator, he understood the power of targeted, specific word choice. He galvanized a movement, stirred individuals to action, and created a vision of unity through his use of visual communication. As we celebrate his life and legacy; we are reminded to resist the draw to "go slow" in the area of calling out inequity and executing on our commitment to equitable practice....
"We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood."
