october is bullying prevention month
Destructive, mean, and potentially life-threatening. Bullying comes in so many forms, none of which are acceptable.

According to a recent federal survey, 15 percent of U.S. high school students reported being the victims of cyberbullying; and nearly 20 percent reported being bullied on school property within the past year.

So what can we do to help?

Stopbullying.gov offers tips, strategies, and tools to help identify and stop bullying.

Together we can achieve so much more.

2023 Planning Has Begun
Help Design Us Design Our Next Event Schedule
In planning for next year, we have been thinking about the topics we want to explore. We believe the best people to ask are those who have seen the value in the sessions we’ve already provided. As we continue to build communication, capacity and community- we want to know..

  • What topics would you like to explore in 2023?
  • What topics could use a deeper dive?
  • What topic has seen enough exposure and can be retired from the cue?

We value your voice and welcome any and all feedback you can provide.

What do you do at rootid?
Mostly my job is to make friends & help people feel comfortable & brave exploring unfamiliar ideas. I also get to both put my hands in a little bit of everything & spend my time thinking about what rootid will look & feel like 3 years ahead of wherever we are.

Which of rootid's values resonates with you most?
Partnership through listening & building trust. I enjoy the quiet & thoughtfulness that comes from listening with intention.

What is your favorite thing about working at rootid?
I love being part of a team where everyone is truly kind as well as deeply interested & passionate about contributing to positive change. I love how we get to iterate, experiment & explore new ways to disrupt the Matrix.

Please share something that you admire/appreciate about a fellow rootid team member.
I love how Marcus can see exactly how to organize or simplify something that I have been banging my head against—sometimes for literally years. It is so clear to him what to do next & such a relief for us all when he does it.

Share a lesson learned from your work with clients here at rootid?
Dismantling harmful practices can only come when you co-create nurturing spaces where people can name their experiences & feel supported.

What’s your all-time favorite book?
If F. Scott Fitzgerald & Octavia Butler were one person & wrote a book, that would be my all-time favorite. Otherwise, there are too many to choose just one.

What’s your favorite holiday?
Boxing Day. I just really enjoy cleaning out my house.

What is your superpower?
Empathy. Sometimes it is also my kryptonite though.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?

"There's Always More to Learn"

we are rooted in community.
In partnership, we co-design necessary spaces for strategic thinking, sustainability & growth—using communications & technology as vehicles to advance equity.

We join with others, envisioning a world where those most impacted are prioritized & communications & technology are used to heal & empower rather than divide. Learn more about our team.
